CTVNews again is making stuff up to try to seem appealing to right-wing interests. In a story today about healthcare, they conflated access to care with access to a regular care provider.

They know damn well that the shortage of family doctors means lots of people don't have a family doctor to follow them.

But that's not at all the same thing as not having access to healthcare. It sucks and it's inconvenient for those without a family doctor but there are walk-in clinics and other ways to see a doctor that are free.

This is cringey and shameful dishonest reporting. We are smarter than that.

I'd expect this from Fox or CNN. Now, I expect it from CTV, too.

"In theory, all Canadian residents have access to hospital and physician services without having to pay out-of-pocket. In practice, 17 per cent of Canadians aged 18 and older said they did not have access to a regular health-care provider in 2023, according to the Canadian Institute for Health Information. "

The study quoted is called "Better access to primary care key to improving health of Canadians"

More than 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes since Wednesday when the ceasefire agreement was first announced.

Canada supplies among other things, a significant amount of aircraft equipment to Israel which then is used directly to commit genocide. Airstrikes are the primary way innocent civilians are killed in Palestine.

Canadian manufacturers could export nearly $95 million in military goods to Israel by the end of 2025.

This has got to stop.

This must be a campaign talking point in the coming liberal leader race as well as the next federal election.
